This standard establishes the requirements for design, maintenance, and operation of lighting systems at SSC. The purpose is to provide proper lighting for all personnel at the most energy efficient levels. The limits given conform to federally mandated energy conservation standards per NASA Policy Directive (NPD) 8820.2, Design and Construction of Facilities, and to best known local factors. Maintenance and operation sections are included because they are closely associated with the lighting design.
